At 87, Mr Pulzer said he expected to pay more for his travel insurance, but he couldn't understand why the cost of the policy – which he has had for several years, and also covers his wife – had risen so much: "I was able to get reasonably priced insurance when I was 86, and we are both still in good health, so why do they want to charge us so much more?"Many older holidaymakers struggle to buy affordable insurance – this is one of the issues we receive most complaints about.
